The Australia Chapter of the Women’s White Collar Defense Association was launched in June 2018 at a breakfast in Sydney hosted by Scarlet Reid, Partner, Ashurst and Kirsten Scott, Counsel, Clifford Chance.
White collar crime is a developing area of practice in Australia with a myriad of legislative changes, including to whistleblowing and anti-bribery laws, currently underway. This makes it an opportune time for an Australian presence in the WWCDA.
The Australian Chapter seeks to build relationships between women who work in a diverse range of white collar practice areas including regulatory prosecutions, investigations, cybercrime, fraud and environmental and safety matters.
The group intends to host networking events on a regular basis.
